Description
The Okuma Custom C-7000
A serious big fish reel without the big price tag.
If you're looking for a dependable large-format reel that won't destroy your tackle budget, the Okuma Custom C-7000 is built exactly for that job.
Designed for anglers who regularly fish for powerful species, this reel combines strength, control and practical features that genuinely make a difference on the bank.
From long-range carp sessions to heavy river work for barbel, and even static pike fishing with sizeable baits, the C-7000 has the backbone to handle serious pressure.
Strength where it counts
The reel is constructed around a corrosion-resistant graphite body and rotor, keeping overall weight sensible while maintaining durability. When you hook into something that refuses to come quietly, the impressive 16kg maximum drag gives you the authority to stay in control.
Inside, the multi-disc drag system with Japanese oiled felt washers delivers smooth, consistent pressure rather than sudden jolts — ideal when playing hard-fighting fish close to snags or at distance.
Core performance features include:
- 3 ball bearings plus 1 roller bearing
- Quick-set infinite anti-reverse
- Cyclonic Flow Rotor (CFR) to reduce moisture build-up
- RESII computer-balanced rotor system
- EFRII Even Flow line roller to reduce twist
Together, these systems promote smooth retrieves, improved line management and long-term reliability.
A genuine edge in accuracy
One feature that really sets the C-7000 apart at this price point is the twin round metal line clips on the anodised aluminium spool.
This allows you to fish two separate distances with confidence — for example:
-
One clipped to a marginal feature
-
One clipped to a far bank spot
-
Or alternating between baited areas
It’s a practical addition that many anglers only expect to see on more expensive reels.
Practical design for real-world fishing
The main spool is anodised aluminium for strength and durability, and a graphite spare spool is included for alternative line setups. The soft-touch ABS T-shaped handle knob provides a secure, comfortable grip when winding under load.
A dedicated Spod version (CS) is also available, supplied pre-spooled with 200m of 30lb braid — ready for heavy baiting work straight out of the box.
Who should choose the C-7000?
- Carp anglers fishing larger venues
- Pike anglers using ledgered deadbaits
- River anglers targeting barbel in strong current
- Anyone wanting a powerful big pit-style reel without overspending
The Okuma Custom C-7000 proves you don’t need to pay top-end prices to get reliable performance and serious fish-playing power. It’s a hardworking reel built for anglers who expect their gear to stand up to real pressure.
