Description
In very good condition and beautifully made. This Andy Batchelor steam bent ash landing net measures approximately 16″ x 21″ and is complete with a knotless fish-friendly net, brass Y shaped fitting and the maker’s details neatly inscribed, Andy Batchelor 2012.
Handmade in the traditional style, the steam bent ash frame gives the net a lovely natural appearance while remaining strong, light and practical in use. The brass Y fitting adds both strength and period character, while the knotless net makes it suitable for careful fish handling on the bank.
Andy Batchelor is well regarded among traditional anglers and collectors for his handmade floats, landing nets and classic angling accessories. Steam bent wooden landing nets are now rarely made, and good examples such as this are always appealing to those who appreciate traditional tackle, natural materials and hand craftsmanship.
A beautifully made traditional landing net, ideal for use with split cane rods, centrepin reels and classic coarse fishing tackle, or as a fine addition to a specialist collection.
